The £8m design and build project for Network Rail (commencing Jan 2013) involves the demolition of the existing life expired station buildings and the construction of a new state of the art station and transport interchange for the local Dartford community.
New build railway station
This project includes
- New three storey station incorporating a ticket office, retail outlets, improved passenger facilities and staff accommodation.
- Temporary ticket office and refurbishment of the station footbridge and platform buildings.
- Re-wiring and re-lighting to platforms, canopies; covered bridge and stairwells, tenancies and previously unused rooms.
- Incorporation of the retained footbridge into the new station structure design.
- Platform works including canopy extensions, a new platform staff accommodation building and accidental train impact mitigation and glazed wind screens.
Supply & installation of mechanical services
Airtemp were selected to carry out the supply & installation of mechanical services at Dartford Station. This incorporated full heat recovery ventilation & extract systems; Mitsubishi Electric VRF systems providing heating & cooling over three floors & the mechanical heating services including gas fired boilers and hot & cold services.
